Foreign Brides sites are websites developed by organizations that typically display the photos and personal advertisements of hundreds of foreign women that seek friendly correspondence, romance and marriage from men that live outside their homeland, usually North American, European and Australian/New Zealand men. These advertisements are also sometimes called "Mail Order Bride" advertisements harking back to the old days before convenient communications and travel, where men working alone in foreign countries would write back to their homes hopeing to attract an agreeable woman to join them in marriage in their foreign posting.
